Between August 1, 1953 and December 31, 1987, more than one million marines, civilian workers, and their loved ones were exposed to toxic water while stationed or working at Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River, North Carolina.
In the early 1980's, it was discovered that two of the eight water treatment plants at Camp Lejeune (Tarawa Terrace and Hadnot Point) were contaminated with volatile organic compounds (VOCs), including dichloroethylene (DCE), trichloroethylene (TCE), perchloroethylene (PCE), vinyl chloride, and benzene.
If you or a loved one was exposed to the water at Camp Lejeune for at least thirty (30) days between 1953 and 1987, were not dishonorably discharged, and have subsequently been diagnosed with any of the following conditions or your loved one has suffered a wrongful death, you may be eligible for compensation:
In June 2022, the US Government passed the Camp Lejeune Justice Act of 2021, which was part of the Honoring Our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act and which permitted individuals to recover for the injuries which they suffered due to exposure to the toxic chemicals in the water.
Passage of this law allows individuals, including veterans and others, to file a Camp Lejeune water contamination lawsuit claims directly to the US Navy through its Office of the Judge Advocate General. If your claim is then denied or an insufficient offer is extended, you may elect to then file a lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina.
Time is limited for you to bring a claim under the PACT Act. If you do not file a claim by August 2024, you will lose your ability to seek the compensation you deserve. Contact Bradlyn J Cole & Associates for a free evaluation of your potential claim.
Bradlyn J Cole is committed to ensuring our veterans and their loved ones are fairly compensated for their injuries. Not only do we offer a free initial evaluation, we offer reduced fee structures for our veterans and their loved ones to maximize their potential recovery.
Once we determine you are eligible to bring a claim under the PACT Act, we will guide you through the process and acquire the proper and complete documentation necessary to ensure your exposure, injuries and damages are properly supported, organized, and presented in the claim process.
